Return to Seoul

Wednesday, May 3, 6 PM at Landmark Grand 10

Freddie, a Korean adoptee raised in France, returns to Seoul in search of her roots. Or is she actually searching for herself? She is a powerful mix of angry, lonely, selfish and resentful emotions. At the same time, in contrast to Korean cultural expectations, she is a lively, free-spirited young woman who presents a multi-layered challenge to her guilt-ridden biological family. Both the lead actor and the director are immigrants; as a result, Return to Seoul is “a film about finding purpose amidst frustration and forming identity in a vacuum.” Aren Bergstrom, 3 Brothers Film
