With Love and a Major Organ has sprinklings of magic realism combined with much humour and soul searching. It also has a big, gooey heart. That’s one of the many endearing and enriching things about it. The film paints an alternative world where hearts are objects, but they can still be broken. People suppress emotions and allow an app to tell them who to marry, who to be friends with, and what they like. This alternative world is shown with sensitivity and playfulness allowing the audience to suspend disbelief easily.
A clever sci-fi comedy for anyone who feels we could all stand to live and love a little more. Nick Allen, Roger Ebert.com
